What a terrible week. First the CL matches where ManUtd proved that I shouldn't underestimate them (I hadn't realised in time Rooney was back, and when I did I didn't dare to change it last minute). I knew Bayern wouldn't win, but was feeing certain they would qualify. How could Fiorentina then win. Result is clear. Of course my opponent, Lyonnais had both these ties correct, making it a lost mach at half time. General opinion about next week matches will be more even, so I have to maybe take a risk there, to recover.
In EL I wasn't that bad, with Afra making the OM equalizer in the last minute, I had even 2 draws correctly and Lilles win. When I look at PL-performance, there are only 4 who did better, but of course I had to run into 1 of them. Excellent done by Integral, but now the distance to Peter is 5 pts, not counting the CL-loss, so I'm afraid I lost the title this week.

Luckily there is still the DavisCup. I feared my ManUtd will draw decision would decide the match to a loss, though I recoverd from it by Lilles win. When OM held Benfica for a long time on 0-0 my hopes grew, but were scattered when Benfica scored. Only when i saw that at Full Time it suddenly was 1-1 it meant we had won. It was close! Thanks Ben Afra!!

On to next week. I/we better enhance our level to get some further. EarlofBug and I both are only 2 points away from the leader in teh General Ranking(EarlofBug will be mad as he chose last minute to leave the Lille win....)

Me and Bruno are the "lucky losers" of this MD. Although being the worst predictors (just 2 pts each), Lyonnais had mercy on our souls and scheduled us to play each other, so we could walk away with 1 pt against the odds. This could be the point that'll save me from relegation Smile

In Davis Cup, naturally, with just 2 pts I couldn't make much difference. However, beber had such a good day, that I doubt we could've won. We matched our performance of last year. Which is not that bad Wink

By the way, the absence of richboy this week really hurts because it gives 2 free wins to 2 direct competitors (EarlofBug and Michele).

I hope that richboy will return Smile
Although I'm not sure winning yet, he can turn the score in the 2nd leg.

Ralfinho is lucky I had changed my prediction for Lille's match. He got 1 point with the draw, that could prove significant for the survival in the PL.

A good week for me despite a poor overall performance (especially in the EL).

I started out predicting all home wins - then changed two. First Lille-Liverpool where after Liverpool played so bad on Monday & got slaughtered by Benitez I thought they would lift themselves & win. Wrong!

But then I also changed the Valencia-Werder game to a draw.

Happily this second change was enough to give me a win over bjkman1903 who had all home wins bar Lille-Liverpool where he went for the draw.

Now - fairly amazingly after a season where relegation seemed likely (or at least extremely possible) for so long - I go into the final week with a decent chance of the play-offs.

I'm also leading uzico - thanks to Manchester United's win - and I'm pretty sure (though it's quite difficult to tell) that winning this one would be enough to get me into the play-offs.

A win would give me 25 points - ahead of 5UCLGSteams (even if he wins against Luka) & one of Aliceag & OGLORIOSO as they are playing each other.

With those 25 points I could - in theory - be level with 3 other players with 3 play-off spots available. This would be the case if Aliceag draws & impdcl & Luka both win. In that scenario I make it I would lead the head-to-head table (6 pts) while Aliceag (3 pts) would miss out. impdcl & Luka would have 4 points each.

On the other hand if OGLORIOSO vs Aliceag has a positive result the winner follows harkonnen or mikabuka into the play-offs & (again assuming all 3 win) the tiebreaker would be between impdcl, Luka & myself. Luka (4 pts) would win it but I (3 pts) would edge out impdcl (1 pt).

And finally - if either Luka or impdcl don't win as long as I do I should make the top 6.

So as long as I didn't forget some possibility my fate should be in my own hands. Hurrah!

Division 3

- the title will be played between Dragonite and erdinc; Dragonite has a 1-point advantage but erdinc won their direct game (if they finish with the same total).
both are sure to get their promotion to D2

- 5 players will fight for the 2 remaining automatic promotions spots: Stef, Stephan, drvasko, best and Cirdan
Direct games between those 5
Stef - Stephan 9-13
Stef - drvasko 25-18
Stef - best 18-9
Stef - Cirdan 26-27
Stephan - drvasko 21-23
Stephan - best 10-11
Stephan - Cirdan 26-31
drvasko - best 13-10
drvasko - Cirdan 36-29
best - Cirdan 38-21

- play-offs spots: in addition to the 5 players named above, MiniEggMan, bcpcd and mioke have a chance to get the play-offs
(too many possibilities to disclose direct games!)

- relegation: levski.bg and apw are relegated; the 3rd spot will be played between Sabonis, aekFC4ever, rmsg, LevskiFan and bcpcd
Direct games betweeen those 5
Sabonis - aek 33-28
Sabonis - rmsg 15-15
Sabonis - LevskiFan 9-8
Sabonis - bcpcd 25-24
aek - rmsg 2-9
aek - LevskiFan 12-17
aek - bcpcd (in process)
rmsg - LevskiFan 32-33
rmsg - bcpcd 20-22
LevskiFan - bcpcd 20-23

Lyonnais, I suppose I still have chances to get in promotion play-off as well.
Anyway, I was really thrilled, still involved in so many games, in first seasons, I was out before winter break from most of comps.
