So what nation is worst at taking penalties?
I would say Italy is up there but the Netherlands gets it from me. I remember do many shoot outs and in game penalties missed by the Netherlands in various tournaments. |

Netherlands-Italy semi on the EC2000. Netherlands missed 2 penalties in regular time + 3 out of 4(?) of the penalties after the 0-0 after extra time.
By the way what was the longest serial?
Holland-21 - England-21 in 2007 must be in the toplist somewhere with 13-12 after 32(?) penalties. _________________ check out my site with probable team and countryranking '11! (6th September). |

you were forgetting SF EC 1992 Against Denmark.
These are 4 out of 5 tournament in a row being kicked out by Penalties. (The 5th, 1994, we were beaten by Brasil because of 2 off-side goals) _________________ check out my site with probable team and countryranking '11! (6th September). |

There has been some kind of scientific research in 2007. It took all the penalty resutls of WC, EC, Copa America and Champions League betwen 1992 and 2004 and made a list of all teams that had to take at least 5 times penalties. there were 10 NT:
1 Germany 92% (20 out of 22 penalties)
2 Uruguay 89%
3 Brasil 84%
4 Argentina 80%
...
10 The Netherlands 67%
On teamlevel the German teams were the best again with 79% serials won and Holland only 36% (5 out of 14 times)
In Dutch:

I have been lokoing for the research itself, but could not find it. It has been performed by the Dutch Chris Visscher and the Norwegian Geir Jordet _________________ check out my site with probable team and countryranking '11! (6th September). |
