Not the goals of Messi, but just his balance. |
he is a great footballer but a really bad actor, so he has to get up _________________ millions of fans, 22 players, 1 ball, 1 dream |

... and BEWARE, NOT FOR THE FAINT-HEARTED: The most horrific injury in the history of the German Bundesliga (Ewald Lienen from Arminia Bielefeld, August 1981).

Just to reassure you: The wound was sewn with 23 stitches, Lienen started training 17 days later and went on to play another 11 Bundesliga seasons. |

my top 5 world cup matches
1998-2010
(i remember 1994 world cup too but only the final match and maradona's goal against greece)
1
SENEGAL 1-0 france (2002, GS)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JigE4eC7XeI
(high school)... last days of 2001-02 education season, our exams were already ended. even teachers didnt bother to come classroom. i dont know why the hell i (and about 10-15 others) attended school that day. we couldnt watch this as it was too early. anyway we heard the result on radio, and without an exception everybody cheered for senegal. me, my friends, and everyone around celebrated their win. of course i watched its re-run but i'm very sad that i couldnt watch it live ...
this match means a lot to me. it's more than a simple football match. it has a deep story... one day i would love to see a similar one, this time involving Algeria
no "ranking" between the 4 matches below. they share 2nd place
NIGERIA 3-2 spain (1998, GS)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YsKJuJL-Lwc
nigeria was a great team with players like okocha, amokachi, kanu, babayaro, okechukwu, west, george, babangida and others... they had a lovely, attack-minded, passionate style of playing. sadly they didnt have such a squad anymore. they had topped their group, while spain were eliminated. the times when spain were "this time they're gonna win it" team, who always failed
SOUTH KOREA 2-1 italy (2002, 1/8F)
i'll never forget this one. after this match, we saw new horizons at arrogance. ahn cung-hvan, scorer of south korea's winning goal was kicked out of perugia!!

SENEGAL 2-1 sweden (2002, 1/8F)
i wanted senegal to keep going on further. and they did so. i loved how they silenced typical anti-african attitudes by beating a "disciplined" north european team

IRAN 2-1 united states (1998, GS)
